003.US3 - Allenstown

This bridge crossed the Suncook River between Allenstown and Pembroke. When these shots were taken in 2002, it was still in service. It is a double-decker steel through-truss built in 1931. The upper level carries the heavy traffic of U.S. Route 3. The lower level provided access from Rte. 3 to the village of Suncook. The bridge was replaced in 2007; the replacement is not a truss.
