Finally, I got a chance to photograph the Indiana night sky, which is surprising bright at 11 p.m. You can see into the Milky Way galaxy. I wish I could do this in Concord.
The unaltered version of this shot was my photo of the day for this day. Post processing can do many things for you, including this much better color sky.
Here's I've turned 180 degrees from the last shot to take another long exposure. Most of the light hitting the trees is incandescent, and the camera is setting white balance based on this. This makes the stars blue and the mercury vapor lighting in lower left green. Works for me.
